Chinese scholar would understand 20.000 character. For the basic just only 1000 character. The top 200 will allow us to comprehend 40 percent of basic literature. The symbol of fire originally from the shape of the flame, tree, mountain, sun, moon and door, that were 8 characters radicals. They are building block to create lots more character. If a person stretched their arms wide, this oerson saying it was big.
